Preamble:
Important natural resources need to be managed rationally to preserve all their values and functions, as they have been significantly degraded or destroyed in recent decades, either by human activity or other biotic and abiotic factors. Interest in these resources has grown steadily in recent years. The properties of plants can be used to treat human pathologies, protect crops from pests, and fertilize the soil, given their richness in bioactive substances. They are also a resource for pollinators. Furthermore, along with wildlife, they form a good source of biomass. This can be used to produce electricity, heat, or biofuels through combustion and fermentation.
To this end, knowledge of this heritage is essential for the preservation and sustainable management of the environment.
This event provides a space for information and exchange on the positioning of research strongly influenced by very different technical, socio-economic and environmental contexts.
Objectives of the Conference:
- Update the state of knowledge and advances made in the development and transformation of biomass;
- VABID-25 enables the sharing of knowledge and expertise with scientists from various backgrounds, young researchers, decision-makers, potential users, and social partners;
- Popularize recent research results, explorations, and discoveries in the field of biomass for Sustainable Development.
